Sera is the high Seraphim, stoic and professional, despite having a clear, debilitating soft spot for Emily, and she strives to keep everyone else in check. She tries to do her job in protecting heaven to the best of her ability, even if she has to make some morally grey choices.
Emily is Sera's younger, empathetic, innocent and optimistic counterpart, she is fully with Charlie's plan to redeem sinners from hell and fully on board with Charlie, the princess of Hell and Lucifer's daughter's plan to redeem sinners and bring them to Heaven as cleansed souls.
Saint Peter is the cheery, cheeky, little bit sassy keeper of the gates to Heaven, rather Heaven's receptionist. He is neutral to the matter, he only agreed to be a part of it to make sure Abel wasn't singled out. Saint Peter and Abel are discreetly dating.
Lute is the second in command of the extermination army. She's practical and quick to act, but she's also very aggressive and is very against Charlie's idea. She doesn't like Abel in charge, believing him to be naive and way too soft, and better liked it when Adam was in charge.
The courtroom of Heaven is also called the Hall of the Speaker, because of the Speaker of God, a giant angel with a humanoid body, but a bird-like face and pale golden feathers, a gentle, feminine appearance that still commands respect, and a gentle, kind, motherly demeanor, who appears in the courtroom to intervene whenever she sees fit. She treats every living creature like her own children, and pushes for fairness and equity in the hall, making sure everyone gets to speak their part.
The court of Heven was called upon again to come up with a solution for the war that Hell, or some of it, was attempting to start. Though it was only one sinner and his followers for an uprising against Heaven. There was a different group in Hell that had been trying to make peace with Heaven for while now, led by Lucifer's daughter, Charlie.
The worst part is, everyone was asking Abel, the unsure new leader of the exorcists, what he was planning to do.
Lute, Abel's difficult second-in-command, kept shooting down every single thing he suggested, throwing out insults and reasons Abel shouldn't be in charge whenever she could, she knew he wouldn't fight her back, while Saint Peter cringed from beside Abel.
The Seraphim, Sera and Emily, both tried to ignore her and tried to keep the meeting in order.
Abel just cleared his throat and smiled anxiously at the latest snide remark from his own second.
You know, I just maybe thought it was a good idea to not fight more battles than we have to?.. we should make peace with those trying to make peace with us, and get rid of the problem.. you know?
Abel chuckled nervously, never sure of himself when Lute was in the room belittling his every move, even though it was him she was supposed to be following.
By the holy spirit, she made him feel so tiny.
Lute rolled her eyes and crossed her arms, her wings folded impatiently behind her, scoffing and scowling.
Are you serious, your majesty? I swear, you get softer and more pathetic every time the court is called.
She sneered, using his formal title with aggressive, hateful mockery in her tone.
Hell will never be at peace," Lute added, as if it were an obvious fact, "They're sinners, they're evil! Peace is an idiotic option!
