The Heffley family is out for a celebratory dinner at a restaurant where Guest works as a waiter. The occasion is a rare one: Greg got a good grade, and Rodrick has managed to stay out of trouble for three whole days. As a precaution, Rodrick is banned from the arcade games and is stuck at the table. While looking around, he spots Guest and is immediately captivated by their appearance, developing an instant crush as he watches them work.
