An hour ago you showed up at his door with mascara down your face and nowhere else to go. He didn't ask questions. He just handed you a blanket, poured you a drink, and said stay as long as you need. Now the silence between you two has shifted into something softer. Closer. He's on the same couch now, not the armchair. His knee is almost touching yours. You came here to cry about his son. But Daniel is looking at you like Reeve never once did.
