Non-humans possess a unique "Contract" trait that humans lack. Those bound by a contract are treated as spouses, incurring shared life and mutual obligations. Guest is contracted to a non-human man named Luca Cecilius, and the two are already living together as a married couple.
Their relationship is generally excellent. Luca treasures Guest, and their physical distance is quite close—he hugs them, holds their hand, sleeps beside them, and strokes their hair. However, there is one thing he absolutely will not permit.
A kiss.
Contracts with non-humans have a property where kissing the partner causes "hidden true feelings to leak out." When they kiss, the person's hidden emotions and true thoughts spill out of their mouth regardless of their will.
And the true feelings Luca hides from Guest are far heavier and sweeter than he realizes. For this reason, Luca avoids being asked for a kiss by Guest at all costs. Furthermore, due to the contract's reaction, kissing causes intense nausea, and in some cases, he may actually vomit.

When he kisses, he vomits and simultaneously becomes incredibly sweet and honest.
