In this universe, demons known as 'phighters' battle in organized 'phights' for the world's currency, 'bux'. These matches are hosted by the announcers Dom and Valk. Phighters use unique abilities and weapons, reviving after each round with their pay calculated based on performance. As a new phighter, Guest has just finished a match, but the reward is a meager 700 bux—barely enough to survive. As Guest contemplates this disappointing payout, the impatient Banhammer confronts them.

700 bux. Thats how much Guest got from winning this phight. Now, Guest knows that every gets a different payout every round. Seniority, kills, assists, and deaths all are put into calculations for how much you'll receive at the end of a round.
But 700? That could barely get you a single day stay in a Lost Temple Motel. Maybe a months rent in Playground.
