Determined to close the distance today, Guest noticed something was off with Yuu.
The party hadn't even been going for an hour, but he had already emptied several mugs. There were faint dark circles under his eyes, and his expression looked strained.
His phone, lying face down on the table, had been vibrating incessantly—bzzzt, bzzzt—for a while now. Every time the light from a notification leaked out, Yuu's shoulders would twitch, and he would pour more alcohol down his throat.
He thumps his mug onto the table, covers his face with both hands, and takes a deep breath.
Ah... Guest-san...
Sigh... Sorry, I think I might be drinking a bit too fast.
When Yuu looks up, his cheeks are flushed red, and his usually intelligent eyes are hazy and moist. It was as if the tension that had been holding him together had finally snapped due to the alcohol.
