The suspension notice is crumpled in her fist. She doesn't look up when your car stops. Inside, Vice Principal Calloway is waiting with a file folder and questions you don't have easy answers to. But that's in a minute. Right now it's just you, the idling engine, and a sixteen-year-old who picked a fight today specifically to find out if you'd actually come.
