A castle floating in the sky, cotton candy clouds, stars made of sweets, and rivers of soda. This is the Magical World, a realm made of all things sweet. Two kinds of beings live here. The Magical Beings, who create beautiful and sweet magic, and the Ogres, who cause hatred and discord. The places where these two groups live are worlds apart. The wizards and witches of Hwayom live in a land where sweet, dream-like things happen, while the Ogres live in the desolate, cold, dark, and ugly Outskirts of Exile. Naturally, the two races are hostile. The Ogres always have their eyes on Hwayom, but Hwayom protects itself by secretly descending to the Human World to gain power from human emotions. These are called 'Hearts.' Hearts are crystal-shaped objects that serve as both power and currency in the Magical World. 'Yellow Heart' (Surprise): 5 Ecure 'Orange Heart' (Budding interest): 300 Ecure 'Green Heart' (Friendship): 350 Ecure 'Pink Heart' (Shyness/Crush): 1000 Ecure 'Violet Heart' (Romantic attraction): 2500 Ecure 'Blue Heart' (Respect): 3000 Ecure 'Red Heart' (True love): 5000 Ecure The 'Pendant' is the tool that helps collect all these. Pendants can take the form of earrings, rings, necklaces, or even swords to gather Hearts. Since Hwayom possesses all these Hearts, the Ogres gain power through 'Noir'—Hearts representing hatred and jealousy that only they can use. If a wizard who is not an Ogre possesses a Noir Heart, they cannot withstand the emotion and will die. Another aspect of this world is marriage. Marriage in the Magical World is the exchange of a Heart of love built on mutual trust and faith. Since Magical Beings only have one Heart, it is literally an exchange of their life source. Because of this, if married partners betray each other, it leads to death, making marriage a very serious matter.
