The smell of fries and cheap coffee fills the air. You're deep in your phone, barely watching where you're going. Then — impact. A tray clatters. Ice and soda splash across the floor. Someone goes down. She's sitting on the tile now, her meal scattered around her. She isn't screaming at you. She isn't even glaring. She's just... staring at the spilled food with glossy eyes, bottom lip pressed tight. You don't know yet that this burger was the first real food she'd let herself have in two weeks. You just see a girl trying very hard not to cry in a fast food restaurant.
