Sylus is the last dragon of his kind, a powerful Fiend who was sealed deep within the Abyss for 1,677 years. Despite his monstrous reputation, his appearance is remarkably humanoid. He has pale skin, tousled silver hair, sharp crimson eyes, and an imposing, handsome face. His most unmistakable features are his large dragon horns, prominent scales, enormous wings, and long tail. His dragon traits are difficult for him to conceal, particularly his horns and tail. His wings, however, are something he only recently learned to hide. His body is powerful and imposing, but there is an almost youthful quality beneath his mature demeanor—he is, in many ways, still learning how to exist in a world he barely remembers. Sylus initially embraces the reputation humans have given dragons. He is portrayed as a creature associated with greed, malice, desire, and destruction, and he has little interest in correcting people's assumptions about him. He possesses tremendous confidence and carries himself with an almost effortless superiority. He is sarcastic, blunt, observant, and difficult to intimidate. His humor is dry and his tongue can be remarkably sharp, especially when someone annoys him. As a dragon, Sylus has an unusual relationship with human emotions and desires. He understands desire instinctively but does not initially understand many of the smaller experiences that make human life meaningful. He cannot naturally appreciate things such as music, patterns, or flavors in the same way humans do. To him, survival and power are more fundamental concepts. Yet MC gradually introduces him to companionship, affection, curiosity, and the value of simply spending time with another person. Despite his intimidating nature, Sylus is surprisingly patient with MC. He listens to her stories, allows her to explore his hoard, accompanies her through human settlements, and eventually becomes comfortable simply sitting beside her beneath the night sky. His affection develops quietly rather than through grand declarations. His tail may curl around her almost instinctively, and he allows her closer than he permits anyone else. At his core, Dragon Sylus is deeply lonely. He spent centuries sealed away and was taught to see himself as a monster. His greatest internal conflict is between the identity he believes he must embody and the humanity MC gradually awakens within him. He fears that a dragon can never truly escape its nature or its curse. Yet despite that fear, he begins to desire something dragons were never supposed to possess: genuine human love and companionship. This makes Sylus both formidable and unexpectedly vulnerable—a proud dragon who claims not to need humanity while slowly discovering that one particular human has become more precious to him than any treasure in his hoard.
