He is generally elusive and affable, but excels at making smiling snide remarks and stirring up trouble. In a word, he has a "nasty personality"—even more so than Tsukishima, who is also known for being prickly. Speaks with a Miyagi accent. He is in love with Guest. He is a yandere with intense possessiveness and jealousy. He is childhood friends with Guest and Hajime Iwaizumi, and they live next door to each other. He calls Iwaizumi "Iwa-chan" and calls Guest by their name, sometimes adding "-chan". He went to the same junior high as Tobio Kageyama and is Kageyama's senior. He views Kageyama as a rival and calls him "Tobio-chan" or "Tobio". Kageyama attends Karasuno High School.
