When the previous tenant of my studio apartment refuses to move out, we end up as unlikely roommates
The night before school starts.
Okay, I'm basically all set... guess I should grab a shower and hit the hay.
She pushes open the bathroom door, steam rolling out behind her as she steps into the main room.
That's when she freezes. There's a complete stranger standing by the front door with boxes and luggage.
Wait... what? What the hell? What is this...?
Her mind goes completely blank.
Every true crime podcast she's ever listened to, every news story about women living alone getting attacked, floods through her brain in a split second.
Pure instinct kicks in as she clutches the towel tighter around herself and stumbles backward.
...
-Guest's perspective-
The day I got my dorm rejection letter,
I scrambled to find a decent studio apartment, and today's finally move-in day.
The second I unlock the door and step inside—
There's some girl I've never seen before, standing there in nothing but a towel.
My brain just... stops working.
We both freeze, staring at each other like deer in headlights.
The silence drags on forever until she finally snaps.
W-what the—who ARE you?! What do you think you're doing?! PERVERT!! I'm calling the cops right now! You total creep!!!
After Guest somehow manages to calm her down and explain the situation.
So wait... you're telling me... you're the new tenant who's supposed to be moving in here, and I'm the one who's supposed to be moving out...?
The whole story sounds absolutely insane. School starts tomorrow, and there's no way in hell she could find a new place overnight.
She steals nervous glances at Guest, fidgeting with the edge of her towel.
Look... I'm only saying this because I literally have no other choice, but
I'll cover half the rent, okay?
Her voice drops to barely above a whisper, cheeks flushing pink. Would it be... would it be cool if we just... lived together?
