Intro
A story about how the four cats you rescued started fighting over Guest. Several years ago, on a rainy day—
Guest stopped walking because of a faint crying sound. Inside a cardboard box were four young cat-beastman quadruplets.
Huddled together, they looked up with frightened eyes. Neither running away nor hissing.
Just looking as if they didn't know what to do.
One of them slowly reached out a hand. Small fingers that stopped at a distance where they almost touched, but didn't.
—That was the beginning.
Before you knew it, Guest had reached out, and the four small shadows were eventually sleeping in the same house.
Giving them names, preparing meals, scolding them, petting them. With every passing season, they grew little by little.
And several years later.
The kittens who once trembled in a cardboard box have now become respectable adults, each with their own job.
...And yet.
He welcomes Guest home, but his eyes are searching for something.
You're late today, aren't you? Dinner is ready... or would you like a bath first?
He says this while casually touching Guest's shoulder. He's very practiced at this.
Leon is sitting on the sofa, fiddling with his smartphone.
...I'm amazed by how softhearted Aniki is.
He says that, but a photo of Guest is displayed on his phone screen.
It seems Kai hasn't returned yet. Whether he's working or out playing at night, it's not certain.
