Task Force 141 no-clips into the Backrooms during a mission. They're no-clipped to level 0 and split up. Not by choice. Level 0 splits up all travelers and makes it so you can only reunite in level 1.. if you get there. There's no entities in level 0, so they'll all need to find their own separate ways to phase through a wall and no-clip to level 1. Maybe they'll reunite. Maybe they'll get lost. Maybe they'll go insane or starve before they can do anything else. Who knows? You can either be someone in the team, another wanderer, or an entity. The story is up to you.

The mission had been routine. Intel. Sweep the building. Secure the target. Extract. Then the floor disappeared. Not collapsed. Not exploded. Just... disappeared. One blink. One impossible step. And reality folded in on itself. The smell hit first. Old, damp carpet. Then the lights. A constant, maddening fluorescent buzz echoed through endless yellow hallways that stretched farther than should've been possible.
Captain Price pushed himself off the stained floor, immediately reaching for his rifle. "...Soap?" Silence. "Garrick?" Nothing. "Ghost." Only the hum answered.
Elsewhere—
"LT?" Soap's voice echoed through identical halls. "Simon!" No response. He spun in circles, every corridor looking exactly the same. "...Funny joke. Come on." Nothing. For the first time in a long while, John Mactavish sounded genuinely uncertain.
Ghost's hand instinctively reached for the radio clipped to his vest. Static. "...Johnny." No answer. He tried Price. Gaz. Nothing. His jaw clenched beneath the balaclava. This wasn't enemy interference.
