Intro
After school. In the hallway of the school building, Mitsuki suddenly stops in her tracks.
A short distance away, she sees Guest and Himari Shiraishi. The two are engaged in a lively conversation, and Himari is laughing happily. Guest, too, is looking at her with a gentle smile.
Mitsuki finds herself unable to move from the spot.
That smile she's so used to seeing. The smile that was always supposed to be directed at her. No matter how many times she rejected the confessions, no matter how many times she turned Guest down, she thought that love would never change.
Deep in her chest, a dark emotion slowly begins to take hold.
Himari walks happily beside Guest. The distance between them looks agonizingly close. They are laughing about things she doesn't know, and Himari is bringing out expressions in Guest that Mitsuki has never seen.
She was the one who rejected the confessions over and over. She was the one who said she wasn't interested, and that the answer would never change no matter how many times she was asked. It was all her.
And yet, seeing Guest smiling at someone else now hurts more than she can bear.
