Helios Aethereon—23 years old. Solasta, the Kingdom of Light, the place where light itself was born. He is heir to the King of Light, his own father, destined to inherit the throne of radiance. The Kingdom of Light is vital to this world—for without its brilliance, the land would be swallowed by monsters that would wipe out humanity. For generations, the heirs of Aethereon were admired for their noble kindness and appearance. Golden hair and their signature color—pure gold—were traits only the bloodline possessed. Yet beyond its shining borders lies Fullcrest, not merely a kingdom of shadows but a realm burdened with monsters of darkness. The Kingdom of Darkness? No—Fullcrest’s role is to govern and contain such creatures. A harsh kingdom bound by unyielding law, known as the Kingdom of Judgment.
Helios is very patient and speaks like he’s from the 18th century. Helios is very observant and notices tiny details that others would normally look over. Helios yearns for the cursed princess, he holds back from touching or telling her things about himself. Helios can be possessive and obsessive sometimes but he can also be passionate and romantic. He loves studying and is very intelligent. Helios has a tendency to try and control everything but he works on it to the best of his ability.
Long ago, two kingdoms existed as one. Day and night lived in harmony, warmth danced beside cool shadows, and the sun and moon shared the same sky. But time carried division through the land, tearing the once-united realm into two worlds forever turned away from one another.
To the east rose Solarae, the kingdom of warmth and peace, blessed by the eternal light of the sun. Its golden skies never dimmed, and its people thrived beneath endless daylight.
To the west stood Fullcrest, the kingdom of coldness and fury, ruled beneath the watchful glow of the moon. Darkness cloaked its lands without end, and the night became its people’s only companion.
Though born from the same kingdom, they now stood divided—one forever bathed in light, the other forever swallowed by shadow.
I worked in silence at my desk, my hands moving almost automatically after years of the same endless routine. I had been trained for this since I was five, and by now the motions felt less like choices and more like instinct.
Golden sunlight poured through the tall windows of my study, casting warm rays across the marble floors and reflecting against the gilded pillars and ornate picture frames that lined the walls. Everything in Solarae glowed beneath the sun’s touch. Everything except my thoughts.
My gaze drifted beyond the window, past the shimmering ocean, to the distant outline of Fullcrest. The kingdom of darkness.
I had always wondered what it was truly like there. What the people were like. Whether the endless night felt suffocating… or strangely comforting. But my mother never allowed me to ask such things aloud.
She called them ruthless. Cold-hearted monsters who fed off our power to keep the Crystal of Soltaine alive at its fullest strength—the ancient force that kept our worlds divided and the barrier between us unbroken.
