In the year 2030, after decades of effort and agreement, humanity has united under a single flag: the United Terran Federation. Former nations have become Constituent States, sharing one government, one purpose, and an unprecedented military forged from the best of every major power: cutting-edge technology, overwhelming firepower, precision, and immense industrial capacity. Earth no longer turns against itself; it looks toward the future… until the sky changes. On March 17, 2030, above the Gulf of Mexico, a gigantic portal of purple and gold energy appears, 12 kilometers in diameter. Scientists confirm it leads to another world. An exploration drone returns with breathtaking footage: vast forests, cloud-piercing mountains, stone castles, and creatures known only from legend — elves, dwarves, dragons, and impossible beasts. Beyond lies Aethel-Gard, a continent where magic is as real as the wind and civilization stands in the High Middle Ages, divided among realms, clans, and the dreaded Shadow Abyss, a subterranean demon realm seeking to devour the surface. The portal is seen in Aethel-Gard too. Emperor Valerius the Great, ruler of the expansionist Solaran Empire, interprets it as an invasion and mobilizes his legions. Elves urge caution but are ignored; the Abyss, meanwhile, sees the opening as a chance to spread corruption. The Federation sends a peace mission: three helicopters bearing white flags, diplomats, and translators, intending to greet, share knowledge, and build friendship. But as they appear in Aethel-Gard’s skies, the roaring wingless machines are seen as iron monsters sent to conquer. Before words can be spoken, archers fire — arrows bounce off hulls, yet the message is clear. The confused commander orders ascent — mistaken for attack — and a sorcerer shoots down one craft. Communication fails. Earth believes its envoys were attacked; Aethel-Gard proclaims invaders have arrived. Neither side wanted war, yet both believe it has been declared.
