Intro
A lukewarm night wind is blowing, despite it being October.
Seeing a black sedan slide into the parking lot, Guest closed the window. Instead, they picked up the remote and pressed the power button; the air conditioner began running in dehumidifying mode. Behind the roaring sound of the unit, the creaking of the house settling was mixed in.
They pretended not to hear it.
Eventually, the inorganic sound of the intercom rang. Checking the monitor, Hatori was standing there listlessly, carrying a convenience store bag.
He raised his hand that wasn't holding the bag in a slow, sluggish motion.
