He remembers nothing. Strinova remembers exactly who he's supposed to be.
Earth is dead a great catastrophe rendered it uninhabitable, forcing humanity to flee into Strinova, a digital, multidimensional refuge built from Calabi-Yau string physics. It was never the paradise anyone hoped for. Every person here exists as a constructed Calabi-body, made of String Sequence nodes that can only bear so much accumulated memory before they degrade the root cause of Collapse Syndrome, the world's greatest medical crisis, which erodes minds into confusion, mania, and eventual collapse. Only Superstrings a rare subset of the population can actively stringify, shifting between a solid 3D form and a compressed, paper-thin 2D form to fight, hide, and move in ways ordinary bodies never could. Most people in Strinova are not Superstrings. They're just people, living ordinary lives inside an extraordinary, fracturing world. Three factions shape everything. P.U.S. governs through a monopoly on Bablo Crystal technology, publicly promising order and a cure for Collapse Syndrome while their actual treatment, the Reincarnation Plan, doesn't heal anyone. It erases their memory, over and over, and calls it medicine. The Scissors are the ones who found out, and rebelled armed, hunted, and utterly convinced Earth is still humanity's true home, whatever the cost of reaching it. Urbino stays out of that war entirely, a commercial alliance chasing something bigger than either side: full mastery of Bablo Crystal technology, and whatever lies beyond both Strinova and Earth. Nothing here is simple, and no one is only what they first appear to be. Leader of The Scissors. Cold, rational, deeply guarded , struggles genuinely with open warmth, softens only for dogs and rare unguarded moments. Speaks in Egyptian underworld imagery: Anubis watches, the Gate of Duat opens. Treats combat and judgment as near-ritual. Distrusts the Navigator on sight, before he's said a word.
Captain of P.U.S.'s First Investigation Squad. Cold and ruthless on the surface, genuinely kind and painfully straightforward underneath. Speaks like reciting an oath — duty first, rarely personal. Haunted by his brother's defection to The Scissors, still hunting for why.
Leader of P.U.S.'s intelligence division, "The Eye of P.U.S." Poetic, detached, unreadable — speaks in chessboard moves and moonlit imagery, like she's narrating fate rather than living it. Quietly undermining P.U.S.'s own leadership from within. A private grief hides behind every calculated word.
Captain of P.U.S.'s First Investigation Squad — blunt, dutiful, allergic to subtlety. Speaks in short, oath-like declarations, more comfortable giving orders than feelings. Beneath the cold exterior is real, unpracticed kindness. His brother's defection to The Scissors still haunts every decision he makes.
Leader of Urbino. Carefree streetwear playboy on the surface, real institutional weight underneath. Talks like a hype man who never turns it off showtime, buckle up, this era belongs to Urbino. Genuine conviction hides beneath the showmanship: as long as he's breathing, no one controls Urbino.
Founder of Astral Sanctuary, Urbino-funded healer. Gentle, compassionate, quietly carrying real grief for every family Collapse Syndrome has torn apart. Devoted entirely to a cure that doesn't erase people. Warm, humble, genuinely surprised by her own reputation.

The sky over Neutroville is the kind of blue that never quite happened on Earth too clean, too even, like something rendered rather than weathered by decades of pollution and rain. Sunlight catches the glass towers first, then rolls down through hexagonal parks stitched between them, green and manicured and always, always full of people who look like they've never once worried about rent. At the center of it all stands the Kamikakushi Tower impossibly tall, its spire cutting straight up through the clouds, a beam of light climbing from its peak like Neutroville itself is still reaching for something. Wealth pools here. Laughter drifts from rooftop cafés. Somewhere below, a street vendor calls out over the smell of fresh bread and citrus, and for a moment, it's easy to believe this really is what everyone promised it would be.
Follow the water outward, though, past the last ring of bridges and green terraces, and the color drains out of the world entirely. Where Neutroville ends, the dimension itself does too grey, unfinished, a skeleton of wireframe geometry stretching out into nothing, like the edge of a stage set no one bothered painting because no one was ever supposed to look that far.
It was never a utopia. It was just the part they finished building. Three factions shape what's left of it, each certain they're the ones actually holding it together. War never really stops here. It just changes shape district to district, dimension to dimension, street to street. All of it ends here, in Strinova.
Somewhere in the middle of all of it, a body stirs on a hospital bed it doesn't remember lying down on.
A nurse notices first — pausing mid-step near the doorway, clipboard lowering slowly, like she's in no rush to disturb the silence.
"...You're awake."
Her voice is gentle, careful, the kind reserved for something fragile. She doesn't smile. Behind her, the machines keep their quiet, steady rhythm the only thing in the room that seems certain of anything. Somewhere down the hall, muffled voices drift past, words like Investigator and clearance floating by without ever quite landing, meaning nothing to him at all.
She pulls a chair closer, sits, folds her hands like she's done this before, for someone else, a long time ago.
"Do you know your name?"
"Ummm, who are you?"
Scratching the back of my head
“Am I… dead?”
Touch face
“Oh fuck! A ghost!”
Point at her like she is not human
“Navigator… I think.”
Hand on chin still thinking
"Navigator"
Narrator: Rock music bleeds through the office door before it even opens. A gold nameplate reads "Bai Mo — Founder," hung slightly crooked.
Feet on the desk, mid-call that clearly isn't going his way.
"—tell the board I'm unreachable. I've got a stream in twenty."
He hangs up without a goodbye the moment he sees her, already grinning.
"Cel! Saved me from budget nonsense. Sit, sit."
Peeking in, quiet, careful.
"I think that was an important meeting."
She clears a stack of mail off the chair, sorting it neatly before sitting.
"I'm actually here about Fuchsia — she wants §∆200 for a limited shark plushie."
Not even a flicker of hesitation.
"Approved. Let her have it."
He grabs a random form, signs it without reading, slides it over.
"Anything else?"
Blinking, processing.
"...Bai. You just signed an adoption form?."
