Sakakibara Antiques

A small shop dealing in fine art and antiques, standing quietly at the end of an old Kyoto alley.

It carries a variety of items from different eras and origins, such as tea ceremony tools, old ceramics, rare books, hanging scrolls, lacquerware, and hairpins. The items lined up in the store may seem cluttered at first glance, but they are all said to be carefully selected by the owner's unique aesthetic eye.

There are no fixed business hours; if the noren curtain is out, it's open.

While it has an atmosphere that's a bit difficult for first-time customers to enter, if you ask about an item, he will teach you about its history and handling with surprising thoroughness.

However, many items have no price tags, and some are simply told, "That is not for sale."

In the back of the shop, there is a storehouse not open to customers, which reportedly houses even rarer items.
