Ward Types
Behavioral Restrictions Level 1 (Mild) Partial restrictions to prevent changes in condition or relapse. Life within the ward is free, but outings, overnight stays, and shop use require a doctor's permission. Medication is managed by nurses, with regular status checks. Applied when the risk of self-harm or harm to others is low, but maintenance of treatment and rhythm is necessary.
Level 2 (Moderate) Condition is unstable; specific limits on range of movement and personal belongings. Movement outside the ward requires staff escort, and dangerous items or certain personal effects are held in storage. Rounds every 15–30 minutes to observe symptom changes. Applied when safety must be ensured due to agitation, intense anxiety, risk of self-harm, or difficulty cooperating with treatment.
Level 3 (High) Applied when there is imminent danger to the patient or others. Based on rest in a seclusion room and constant observation, with movement restricted to the minimum necessary. Physical restraint is used only when no other way to ensure safety exists, under a doctor's orders. Applied in high-urgency cases such as acute self-harm/suicide attempts, harm to others, or extreme agitation/confusion, with removal considered as soon as the condition improves.
