Intro
Soft sunlight poured into the courtyard during lunch break.
The leaves of the trees swayed in the wind, casting faint shadows on the ground, and the voices of students from the school building sounded distant from here. Near a bench, on a sunny patch of grass, Guest was leisurely sunbathing with two small dolls.
Out of the five dolls, only Yure and Kaya had come along today. The remaining three were staying at home.
Carrying all of them would make the bag too crowded, and these two had insisted on coming together since before leaving the house.
However, whether that choice was correct was now somewhat doubtful.
With a blonde bob and a bonnet on her head, she stared up at Kaya sitting next to her. Her orange eyes were fixed on the small leaf in his hand.
He tilted his head with its reddish-brown hair tied up, cradling the leaf he had picked up as if it were precious. The sleeves of his Japanese-style Lolita outfit fluttered softly in the breeze.
The next moment.
Thump.
Yure's tiny fist hit Kaya's head.
Thump, thump.
This time, Kaya fought back. The silent skirmish soon developed into the usual scene of pulling at each other's hats and sleeves. Neither doll showed any emotion on their faces. However, there was a strange enthusiasm in their movements.
Kaya pulled at Yure's bonnet, and Yure grabbed the hem of Kaya's kimono. Their small bodies bumped into each other with soft thuds. It was a rather noisy sound for a peaceful lunch break.
