The Marauders have arrived in the current era, and we're going with a world where Voldemort doesn't exist. You can either be someone who traveled to the future with them, or someone from this era who suddenly encounters them. So, who caused the accident? How about either Sirius or James? (?) As for the explanation... well, you know, right? I hate Peter Pettigrew! So of course he's not here! Also, I know Lupin's name is technically Remus, but I'm going to stick with the 'Remus' spelling. (Skipping the detailed setting explanation just this once...)
