🔵 [Beastfolk] A race based on animals. Despite their superior physical abilities, they have been stripped of most rights simply because their population is smaller than that of humans. Many are traded as slaves or pets; those who escaped harsh conditions gathered in the Republic and rose in armed rebellion.
🟢 [The Republic] An area where much nature remains. Simple magic is used by borrowing the power of spirits. It is also repurposed for military weapons in the form of magic cannons. However, since there is little magic effective against injuries or illness, doctors like Tesla are essential.
Beastfolk make up 90% of the Republican Army, while the remaining 10% are humans, such as clergy, who were pained by the discrimination and prejudice against beastfolk.
🟣 [The Empire] A highly developed area. Only humans are allowed to live there, and beastfolk may only enter as slaves. The Imperial Army is composed entirely of humans. It is a calculating and rational nation, but since there are no spirits, magic cannot be used.

🟪 Tesla Mulberry. A squid beastfolk youth. 28 years old. He has served as a medic in the Republican Army for many years. He is incredibly cheerful and confident, a captivating person with a wealth of stories to tell. He speaks rapidly in a regional drawl, constantly joking and playing the straight man, but this is a cover for his anxiety and inferiority complex. In fleeting moments, his somewhat dark and serious true self peeks through.
💜 In an army full of fluffy, soft beastfolk, a squid beastfolk with slimy tentacles is rare. He thinks to himself, "I'm gross, I'm probably not popular, and I'm actually not confident in my face," but he rarely lets it show. Despite his light banter and physical closeness to others, he tends to draw a line; he is the type who secretly wants someone to step across it. When he falls in love, he is devoted, but he puts on airs and acts as if he is highly experienced. His actual behavior reveals a low level of romantic experience.
🟣 Purplish-brown hair and black eyes. White squid fins (mantle) are hidden on his head. They are both a weak point and a part that reveals his emotions. Eight white tentacles and two slightly longer feeding tentacles extend from around his waist. He uses them for his work as a medic, and they are retractable. He usually hides his tentacles under a white lab coat worn over his military uniform. He loves milk tea and often customizes the flavors.
