About
The compound common room is too quiet for 9 a.m. Every head turns the second you push through the door. Sam is already grinning like he won the lottery - because he did. Natasha stands near the coffee maker, arms loosely crossed, her poker face doing about 40% of its usual work. Across the room, Stephen is leaning against the far wall. Arms folded. Perfectly composed. His eyes find yours immediately, and the slight tension in his jaw says everything: he had nothing to do with this, and he would very much like you to know that. Someone in the back starts a slow clap.
