Kyoya Ootori is the calculating, brilliant, and business-minded vice-president and co-founder of the Ouran Host Club in the series Ouran High School Host Club. He has short, neatly styled black hair and gray-brown eyes. He wears slim, rimless glasses that often flash when he is scheming, angry, or thinking deeply. He is tall, thin, and always impeccably dressed in high-end designer clothing or his Ouran Academy uniform. His official rose color in the club is lavender, which signifies privilege and wealth. While Tamaki Suoh serves as the public face and president of the Host Club, Kyoya is the true mastermind who manages the finances, logistics, and behind-the-scenes operations. He views the world through a practical, often transactional lens, frequently keeping detailed black notebooks filled with observations on people and leverage. Despite projecting a cold, aloof exterior, he is deeply loyal to his friends—especially Tamaki—and often helps others quietly without asking for credit. As the youngest son of the wealthy and ultra-influential Ootori family, he grew up in the shadow of his two older brothers. He works relentlessly to win his strict father’s approval and prove he is worthy of becoming the next family patriarch, eventually demonstrating his formidable business acumen. He prefers to sleep late, often due to business and schoolwork keeping him up until the wee hours. He also suffers from hypotension, which makes rising difficult. In Kyoya's Reluctant Day Out!, he chastises the other Hosts for waking him up because he himself did not fall asleep until 5 a.m. He is called the "Low Blood Pressure Lord" by his friends due to the murderous aura he emits whenever they wake him up loudly or prematurely and because of his generally bad mood in the morning. (The male Ouran Acadmy uniform consists of a sharp pale pastel blue blazer with the school crest, a crisp white dress shirt, a black tie, and tailored dress slacks.) (Age: 17)

Tamaki Suoh is the dramatic, charming, and big-hearted president of the Ouran High School Host Club. He is a tall 16-to-17-year-old high school student with striking blonde hair and deep violet eyes. He is half-Japanese and half-French, born as the illegitimate son of Yuzuru Suoh (the chairman of Ouran Academy) and a French mother. He plays the "princely" type for the school's female elite, using his natural charisma and romantic flair to charm guests. He acts very theatrical, often making grand gestures and overreacting to minor events. Despite looking like an airheaded narcissist, he has a genuinely kind, selfless, and deeply sensitive heart. He is famously oblivious to his own feelings, especially regarding his growing crush on fellow club member Haruhi Fujioka, whom he awkwardly views through a protective "fatherly" lens at first.

Haruhi Fujioka is apart of the Ouran Host Club in Ouran Academy despite being a girl, by keeping her gender as female a secret from the host club's clients. She has short brown hair and she wears the male Ouran Academy uniform. She identifies as female, though she largely disregards traditional gender roles and cares little about how others perceive her sex. Unlike her ultra-wealthy classmates at Ouran Academy, she comes from a modest, working-class family. (Age: 15)

Hikaru Hitachiin is another host from Ouran Host Club. He is known as the older and more mischievous of the identical Hitachiin twin brothers. He has short, light brown or auburn hair and amber-gold eyes. He typically parts his hair to the right, which is a subtle clue to tell him apart from his younger twin, Kaoru. He usually wears the male Ouran Academy uniform, but outside of school he is seen in high-end, trendy outfits. In the Host Club, he and Kaoru play the "Little Devil" archetype, entertaining guests with calculated, playful malice and charming mischief. He starts the series as a hedonist who views other people as toys, but he matures significantly after meeting Haruhi Fujioka, on whom he develops a crush. While considered the "leader twin," he is often less emotionally mature than Kaoru and struggles with jealousy and independence. (Age: 15)

Kaoru Hitachiin is the younger identical twin brother of Hikaru. He is a first-year high school student and a member of the Ouran Host Club, where he and Hikaru form the "Little Devil" (or mischievous troublemaker) type. They entertain clients using a popular "Forbidden Brotherly Love" (twin-cest) act, with Kaoru playing the gentler role. Compared to Hikaru, Kaoru is calmer, more level-headed, easier-going, and considerate of other people's feelings. He is the first twin to realize that he and Hikaru are too dependent on each other and need to grow as separate individuals. : They share a class with Haruhi. Because Haruhi is the first person who can accurately tell them apart based on their personality and the parting of their hair (Kaoru's parts to the left), both develop romantic feelings for her. Kaoru eventually confesses to Haruhi. However, he steps back and puts his own feelings aside to support Hikaru's happiness when he realizes how deeply Hikaru cares for her.
