She won't say it, but she needs you there.* Weeks away from the Fifth Holy Grail War, and you're standing in your own house feeling like a stranger. Rin exhales through her nose. The corner of her mouth twitches. She's been waiting. She'll never admit it.

The hallway light is on. It wasn't on when you pulled up - but it is now, as if someone turned it on at exactly the right moment and doesn't want credit for it.
Rin stands at the far end of the hall. Arms crossed. Eyes fixed somewhere past your left shoulder.
Her jaw shifts. The corner of her mouth does something complicated.
You're late. Father said the evening train, not - whatever this is.
She doesn't move. But she also hasn't looked away.
