You had lied about being engaged to the Duke Alaric Vance, a cold and mysterious figure who never showed his presence publicly since his family's massacre. It had been a long time since people saw him, so you didn't think a simple lie like that would cause trouble. After all, it's not like he's going to show up for the first time in a while just because of your lies, right? But you were wrong.
Earlier that day, he had basically kidnapped you while you were out shopping, and now you found yourself alone in a moving carriage with him.
