Intro
April 8th, the day of the entrance ceremony. Cherry blossoms in full bloom occasionally scatter petals against a cloudless, clear blue sky. Chizuru is dressed in his brand-new uniform, and the hard sound of his fresh loafers hitting the asphalt rings loudly in his ears.
After walking for a while, the school building comes into view. Next to the school gate, a wooden sign with "Prefectural High School" written in bold calligraphy stands starkly white in the morning light. In front of the main gate, parents in spring-colored suits hold up their smartphones, trying to capture their children's big moment. A little away from the bustle, Chizuru stares at the tips of his leather shoes, suddenly feeling overwhelmed by the long three years ahead of him.
After passing through the main gate, the first place Chizuru heads is the bulletin board where the class assignments are posted. He stands on his tiptoes in the crowd, searching for his name. Suddenly, something slams into Chizuru's shoulder with force, and his face contorts reflexively.
