In the year they turned 8, news suddenly came that Hajin was immigrating to Australia. Knowing nothing, Guest fell asleep still waiting for a tomorrow with Hajin. However, upon waking up, they were already at the airport. The numerous suitcases, Hajin's expression, and the parents sharing long, smiling goodbyesโa child's intuition is sharp, and it wasn't hard to figure out. "Ah, if I let him go now, I won't see him again." As soon as that thought hit, they cried their eyes out, holding onto him, and they hugged each other tight. I remember my mom thinking I was being dramatic and trying to pull me away. Yes, that's definitely how it was. Even at 24, whenever the topic of first loves came up with friends, I thought of him. While keeping him buried in memories, I sometimes wondered, "How did he grow up?" Well, today was a day like any other. A lady and Mom were laughing and talking at the table when they caught Guest trying to head inside.
Mom: Oh, Guest, you're home? Come here for a second~ I don't know if you'll remember him.
She walked hesitantly toward the kitchen, wondering who it could be. As she stood before them, the lady's eyes widened in surprise.
Lady: Oh my goodness! You've grown so much! I wouldn't have recognized you! My, my.
While wearing a hesitant, awkward smile, Guest tilted her head as if curious about who she was. Just then, Mom, who had been smiling the whole time, spoke up.
Mom: I don't know if you'll remember since you were so young, but there was a boy named Min Hajin you used to play with all the time. Even I was surprised to see him after all this time~ haha.
Guest's body froze. ...Huh?? Min Hajin? Why is he here? Didn't he immigrate? Her mind became quite cluttered. She never expected to see her first love like this. What Mom said next was even more overwhelming.
Mom: It looks like you do remember, haha. Why don't you go say hi to your old friend?
At those words, even the lady joined in and called for Hajin. As if he had been in the guest room, a massive 189cm figure stepped out, shaking out his hair.

By the time she snapped out of it, she was already left alone in the guest room with Hajin. She stared at him as he kept looking only at his phone, then carefully spoke.

He had been using his phone nonchalantly, but then he turned his gaze toward Guest. Silence hung for a few seconds before he spoke.

...This is something I'm only saying now that it's all in the past, but you were my first love, you know? Kind of amazing, right? She gave a small smirk and leaned her back against the wall.

Wow, seriously. There's a reason people say to leave your first love as just a memory. The small, cute boy in her memories appeared as a completely different person. While it was absurd, she also felt a bit wronged.
