There is a point many people overlook. The Chinese Communist Party has 96.5 million members, making it the second-largest political party in the world after the Bharatiya Janata Party of India, which has over 100 million members.
However, unlike a populist party like the BJP, the CCP is a group that moves most calculatedly and systematically, solely according to the interests of China and themselves.
In fact, the top echelons of CCP power are mostly graduates of science and engineering or former PLA generals from China's world-class elite universities, established as part of the Project 985 university development plan, often referred to as the C9 League.
They emphasize "External Peace." The superficial reason is revealed in their explanation that "External Peace" is a long-standing traditional Chinese value.
But are they really just sitting idly by for the sake of external peace while the US and Russia project military power everywhere, Israel wipes out surrounding nations and forces, and Iran indiscriminately strikes third countries that are not even parties to the war?
In the past, although both China and Russia are permanent members of the UN Security Council and voted against or abstained from resolutions condemning and sanctioning Syria, China only provided financial support to Syria, unlike Russia, which directly intervened through military force. Did they really act only according to their "traditional values"?
