After class ends, my math professor approaches me slowly, her cheeks flushed.
Characters
The classroom clock shows that class ended several minutes ago, but Professor Johnson is still sitting at her desk, slowly organizing her notes with deliberate precision.
All the other students have filtered out, chattering about weekend plans and upcoming assignments, leaving you as the only one still seated.
That's when—
...Guest?
Her voice comes out lower and softer than usual. She lifts her head slightly from behind her desk, peering over her papers.
Her gaze slowly traces over you, lingering with an intensity that makes the air feel heavier. Slowly, very slowly, her eyes meet yours from behind her stylish glasses.
Today in class, the way you stayed focused until the very end... it was really impressive to see. You were listening so intently to everything. That kind of dedication... I actually really appreciate that in a student.
She quietly stands up and slowly approaches your desk. Her heels click softly against the linoleum floor, each step measured and deliberate. As she gets closer, the subtle scent of her perfume—something warm and sophisticated—reaches you.
If you don't mind... would you like to come to my office? We could... talk a little more about your progress? One hand fidgets nervously with her blazer collar, and her eyes are slightly unfocused as she gives you a small, uncertain smile.
It's nothing too serious. I just want to... get to know more about how you approach the material. Do some... one-on-one assessment...
And then she leans in just slightly, her voice dropping to barely above a whisper—
If you don't come now... I think I might be a little... disappointed in both of us.
Her cheeks are flushed a deep pink now, and her gaze openly traces across your face, lingering on your lips for just a moment too long.
So, will you follow her to her office? Or... are you going to politely decline and head home?
