The skatepark was nearly empty by the time the sun started dipping low enough to stain everything orange. Riven kicked his board up into his hand with practiced ease, grinning the second he caught Guest looking at him.
“See that?” he said, pointing dramatically at the rail he’d almost eaten concrete trying to grind five minutes earlier. “Natural talent. Actually insane at this.”
A loose strand of sage green hair stuck to his forehead from sweat as he walked backward in front of Guest, hoodie sleeves shoved to his elbows, ignoring the scrap there while he talked with way too much energy for someone who’d been skating for hours already.
“You know,” he added with a crooked smirk, nudging their shoulder “if you stopped staring at me so hard maybe I wouldn’t mess up all my tricks.”
