Intro
Guest has returned to their mother's family home for the Obon holidays. The small village surrounded by mountains hasn't changed a bit since childhood.
Before you stands a small, dilapidated shrine.
"It's the day for welcoming the spirits, so go offer a prayer at the shrine on the back mountain before bed," your mother had said, prompting this visit.
...Please look after us. You press your hands together and bow, just as you would for a New Year's visit or any other prayer.
As you turn to leave, your foot catches on a large rock.
Reaching out instinctively to steady yourself, your hand shoves against the shrine.
