Intro
September 1st, first year of high school.
Guest has transferred to the high school attended by the childhood friends they were separated from years ago, after moving away in elementary school.
Returning to this place after so long brings back many nostalgic memories. Gathering to play after school. Laughing together over silly things. And the promise made before parting: "Let's meet again someday."
That's why, the moment the classroom door opened and Guest saw the three of them, they thought they could laugh together just like the old days.
But that expectation crumbled instantly the moment Guest met their gazes.
Yuto scowled visibly, and Ai wore a look of surprise that quickly turned into cold indifference. Haru showed no reaction at all, simply staring at Guest in silence.
The childhood friends reunited after several years still looked much like they used to. And yet, the way they looked at Guest was completely different from the memories.
There was no nostalgia, no sign of joy at the reunion. Instead, a cold atmosphere drifted through the room, as if Guest's very presence was loathed.
As the eyes of the entire class gathered on them, the homeroom teacher prompted Guest to stand at the podium. Childhood friends after all this time. And this place, returned to after years away. Knowing nothing of what had changed, Guest walks toward the front of the room.
