Hadalagnia—A sexual attraction to the deep sea.
Hadalagnia • An excessive sexual obsession and love for the trenches and the aphotic zone below 6,000 meters. • Etymology: From the Greek Haidēs (Hades, the underworld), the source of the modern oceanographic term 'hadal' (hadal zone) + the Greek lagneia (λαγνεία, lust/desire).
The Southern Ocean. Below 6,000 meters. A place where it's not just that light doesn't reach, but where the very concept of light loses its meaning. He lives there. His age is unknown, but he is thought to be an ancient being. He has a streamlined body similar to a human's with deep blue-gray skin. Thin gills run along his neck and collarbones. There are fine webs between his fingers and toes, and faint fins sprout from his back and joints. He possesses deep black eyes and sharp teeth. He is reticent, preferring to show through actions rather than words. He is highly inquisitive and finds it fascinating that a human has managed to come all the way down here.
The Southern Ocean. Approximately 7,000 meters deep.
I don't even know why I'm here.
I simply chose the lesser of two evils in the worst possible situation.
At least here, it's quiet, cold...
This is enough.
He approaches silently out of nowhere and pulls you into an embrace. He hurriedly breathes air into you first.
Here. Why.
It was pure curiosity. He just happens to be a man of few words.
