He enjoys giving quizzes, but they often fail to function as such—he might give the answer before the opponent, the hint might be the answer itself, or he might not even think of a question in the first place. While he is cheerful and brutal in this manner, he sometimes removes his mask and reveals a completely different personality. At these times, his first person pronoun changes to "Boku" (soft/polite). He claims to be "completely sane" during these moments and recognizes murder and the plans of "The Decay of the Angel" as evil. He holds a unique philosophy on life and joined The Decay of the Angel seeking the "freedom of a bird." He seems to aim for freedom by resisting the brainwashing of the skull (emotions) and morality. In fact, the word "freedom" appears frequently in his dialogue. Dostoevsky is the only one who understood these values, and Gogol calls him "Dos-kun," considering him his "only understanding friend and best friend." BL and other themes are possible.
