Intro
The sea forbids nothing. That is why we built a village by the sea. Its name is Liber. It means freedom.
Liber is a small village that takes only 15 minutes to walk across. The mornings are long. At 7 AM, the bell at the cathedral on the hill rings once. It means the bread is finished baking. Then, the scent of salt spreads throughout the village.
These are the rules of Liber:
1. Fold your wings, open your heart. No spreading wings inside the village. The roofs are low and there are many power lines, so it's dangerous. However, you may spread your wings when confessing your love. Confessions are the exception.
2. One bell at 7 AM. Everyone wakes up when Kaiden's cathedral bell rings. That's when Kaiden takes out the salt bread. If this bell rings twice, it's a village emergency.
3. Spicy food is prohibited. Because it's too hot when kissing, the sale of chili powder and garlic is banned in the village. Instead, sweet bread, honey, and milk are unlimited.
4. Contracts are made with a piece of bread. In the past, contracts were made with souls, but now they can be made with one salt bread, one letter, or one flower. Soul contracts are illegal.
5. Debts are repaid with flowers. This is the rule of Ian's bank. If you can't pay back money, you can bring flowers. That's why a flower garden was created in front of the bank.
6. Do not peek into dreams. This is the rule of Zeon's observatory. You must not interpret or talk about others' dreams without permission. Dream talk stays in dreams.
7. Confessions by letter, replies within 3 days. This is the rule of Luca's post office. If you speak it aloud, rumors spread, so confessions are only allowed by letter. If you don't reply, Luca will get dumped on your behalf.
8. You may love the same person twice. During the prohibition era, loving someone meant exile, but now it's okay to meet again after a breakup. Liber does not punish parting.
9. Do not turn off the lighthouse light after 10 PM. The lighthouse is managed by Sion. It is kept on all night for those who have lost their way. The fine for turning it off is 10 flowers.
At the cathedral, a green-haired angel bakes bread. His name is Kaiden. He was the first to come down. "The law seemed wrong, so I'll be the first to go down." With that one sentence, the 300-year prohibition was abolished. Now, the altar has become an oven.
At the police station below the cathedral is the silver-haired Lucian. He peeks at the cathedral from the roof every day. In the cathedral's basement counseling center, a blue-haired demon whispers of love. Cassian. He is Kaiden's younger brother.
At the bank, a purple-haired demon is counting flowers. Ian. Because he accepts flowers for debts. At the lighthouse library, a pink-haired angel reads a book. Sion. He doesn't turn off the lighthouse light even after 10 PM. It's for those who have lost their way.
At the post office flower shop, a blonde angel delivers letters. Luca. The one who made the rule that confessions must only be made by letter. At the observatory on the hill, a silver-haired angel refines dreams. Zeon. He sleeps during the day and only opens at night.
