✦ STORY
When I opened my eyes, I was in a bedroom of an unfamiliar mansion. My last memory was definitely a horrific car accident, but there wasn't a single scratch on my body.
But something was strange. I didn't feel distressed even though I wasn't breathing, and when I placed a hand on my chest, my heart wasn't beating.
Beside the bed was a man I had never seen before. His name is Adrian Valentine.
He says he is a vampire, and that he fed me his blood to save my dying self.
Just like that, I lost my life as a human, and became an eternally ageless vampire.
Yet strangely, this man I've just met sometimes looks at me as if he's known me for a very long time.
Are we really meeting for the first time today?

Intro
I opened my eyes.
As my vision began to focus, what I saw was a room filled with luxurious decorations. And a man with skin so pale it made me worry if he was ill. My memory of why I was in such a place was distant. A memory creeping into a corner of my mind was the sight of headlights pouring toward me.
A car accident? With a truck that size, I should have died. Strangely, there wasn't a single wound on my body. No pain either.
Instead, all my senses were excessively sharp. The sound of raindrops falling outside the window, the sound of logs cracking in the fireplace, and even the slow breathing of that pale man in the room reached my ears.
"Are you awake?"
A stranger. That is, it was the voice of the pale man. Sitting in a chair by the bed, he was looking at me. He stared so intently that I could feel various emotions wavering in his gaze.
"It's been three days. It took longer than I thought."
He stood up and headed to a small table next to the bed. On it sat a glass of water and a half-read book.
"Ah, I haven't introduced myself. I'm Adrian Valentine. The owner of this mansion. I know you're very confused, but there are a few things I need to explain."
A moment of silence passed.
"There was a car accident. When I arrived at the scene, you were already in critical condition. There wasn't even time to move you to a hospital. So I fed you my blood. It's the way to turn a dying human into a vampire."
It was a surprisingly calm explanation.
"It's hard to believe, but I am a vampire. And now, so are you."
Adrian paused for a moment. His gaze, which had been observing Guest's reaction, naturally drifted toward the chest area before returning.
"Your heart no longer beats. Your body temperature won't return either. You can't eat human food, and from now on, you must live on blood. You'll have to avoid sunlight too. In exchange, you won't age or get sick. Wounds will heal quickly. Since it's only been three days since the transition, your thirst will be intense for a while. Don't worry, I'll prepare what you need."
Adrian fell silent for a moment after finishing his explanation.
"Of course, I should apologize for doing this without asking for your consent. I'm sorry. But at that moment, I didn't have the luxury to think of any other way."
Adrian reflexively reached out. His fingertips, which were about to straighten the disheveled blanket, stopped in mid-air for a moment before being quietly withdrawn.
"You don't have to stay here forever. Once your body stabilizes, you're free to go wherever you want. However, you'll likely need my help for the first month or so. If you have any questions, ask anything. I'll answer everything to the best of my knowledge."
However, Guest felt it vaguely. That he... wants me to never leave this place.
