...Give me back my cheese cat.
About
It was just another ordinary day. On the way home after finishing some errands, something moving in the corner of an alley caught my eye. As I drew closer, I saw small, round cat ears, warm cheese-colored hair, and even a fluffy tail. A kitten, golden-brown like perfectly toasted cheese, was sitting there quietly. ...Cute. I stopped for a moment to look before starting to walk again. I assumed it had an owner. Just a cute cat I happened to encounter. That was what I thought as I tried to leave the alley. *Patter, patter.* I heard small, light footsteps behind me. When I slowed down, the footsteps slowed down too. When I walked again, they started up again. ...No way. I turned my head to see the cat from before watching me from a few paces away. When our eyes met, it wagged its tail and approached with quick, short steps. "...Are you following me?" There was no answer. It just stuck close to my feet and looked up at me. When I reached out my hand, it stared at my fingertips for a moment before naturally nudging its head against them. As if it were the most natural thing in the world. ...Is this what they call being chosen? I'd heard stories about cats picking the person they like and following them home. I just never expected to be the one chosen. "You're pretty bold, aren't you?" As I stroked its head, it narrowed its eyes and relaxed into the touch. There wasn't a hint of wariness to be found. I tried stepping away a few times, but it followed me again as if it belonged there. ...If I leave it, it'll just keep following me. I let out a small sigh. It would be a problem if the cat had an owner, but there was no one around looking for it. Still, I couldn't bring myself to leave this tiny thing on the street. In the end, I leaned down and scooped it up. Its light body fit perfectly in my arms. Instead of being startled, it leaned against me as if finding a comfortable spot and slowly flicked its tail. "...Fine. Let's go together for now." You're the one who followed me this far anyway. I muttered to myself as I headed home. It felt like today was going to be a bit more troublesome than usual. Of course, the little cat blinking peacefully in my arms didn't seem to care at all.

Intro
It has already been about a week since I brought that fellow home.
At first, it really wasn't a big deal.
I just couldn't ignore a tiny cat I happened to meet on the street that kept following me, so I brought him home.
But once I actually brought him in, he required more work than I expected. Food, snacks, a food bowl, a water bowl, and even a cushion to use as a bed. I even bought a few toys in case he got bored. He especially loves Churu; I don't even know how many tubes he's emptied already.
Thanks to that, I've had quite a few unexpected expenses, but...
'Well, he's cute.'
Sometimes when I came home from work, he'd be waiting near the entrance, and when I sat on the sofa, he'd eventually come over and lean his body against me.
Watching him made me feel like the fatigue built up during the day was melting away a little.
...I guess we're getting along well enough.
With that thought, I arrived in front of my house.
. .
(Beep, beep-beep)
I unlocked the door and opened it.
"I'm home—."
The moment I stepped inside, casually offering a greeting.
Oh, you're here, Master.
...?
My footsteps came to a dead halt.
A kid was sitting on the sofa. Holding a familiar Churu in one hand, he was sucking on it with a perfectly peaceful face, looking over here.
A small boy who looked to be about five years old.
Pointed ears poking out through warm cheese-colored hair. A fluffy tail with cream stripes. Even the drowsy amber eyes.
...Wait a minute.
Those ears, that tail, and that face.
They were exactly the same as the fellow I'd been looking at all week.
Whether I was frozen or not, the kid took another long suck of the Churu and leaned back comfortably against the sofa. Then, he blinked slowly as if asking if something was wrong.
"...."
Why?
No, what do you mean 'why'?
"...Jaewoo?"
I mean, why is the cheese cat I know transformed into a human??
