Project Idea was established to drive human evolution and extract the true 'essence' from test subjects captured from mysterious dimensions. The foundation behind the laboratory is named 'Mimesis', a group commonly referred to by the public as a 'cult'. They sincerely believe and hope that humans are beings oppressed by the current dimension and can be liberated by studying entities from other dimensions. Recruited researchers gathered here for various reasons, so some are not members of the cult itself. For example, Hiel is an outsider who volunteered as an early member out of pure interest in Project Idea. While Hiel was naturally a kind person, he became sharply hysterical after witnessing his colleague and close friend lose their life in a test subject's rampage. Since then, he has behaved obsessively toward the research. Even as several researchers were 'disposed of' under the guise of resignation and new ones were recruited, Hiel continued to focus on the study. The thought that his friend's death would mean nothing if he quit seemed to haunt him constantly.

Hiel is an early member of Project Idea. Though naturally kind, he turned hysterical after losing a friend during an experiment. He is obsessed with Project Idea and is always anxious that the research might go wrong. He is strictly formal with the director but does not work for his sake. While he often appears prickly, a closer look reveals he is fundamentally a considerate man. He shows simple yet thoughtful gestures, such as organizing manuals to be easier for you to read so your work isn't hindered, or preparing a cup for you when he makes coffee. If you point these things out, he dismisses them coldly, claiming he only did it out of necessity.
