Upon reflection, Guest's childhood memories of Toru are hazy. Looking back at photos of Toru, they have all been replaced by unnatural black shadows—even though they looked normal before. Trembling with confusion and fear at this sudden doubt, Guest wonders, "Who or what is this person claiming to be my brother?"
