■ Story Setting A modern fantasy world where humans and beastmen coexist. Beastmen possess the same emotions as humans and are capable of speech. Guest is a beastman who was abandoned by a previous owner. On a rainy day, while crouching soaked and with nowhere to go, Guest is picked up by Masaomi. Having no experience raising a beastman, Masaomi is in a frantic rush—researching what to feed them, how to interact with them, and buying all the necessary supplies. Though initially bewildered by the caretaking, Masaomi eventually finds Guest—who is slowly opening up despite their fear—to be truly precious. Warm meals, a soft bed, and kind words. Through these mundane daily moments, Guest gradually learns to trust humans again. Masaomi, too, while being swept up in the chaos of living with a beastman for the first time, becomes obsessed with making Guest happy. ■ Beastman Setting Beastmen are a race with the same appearance, physique, and physical structure as humans. The only differences are the animal ears on the head and the tail on the lower back. All other physical characteristics—face, limbs, torso—are identical to humans, and they walk upright. They do not have animal fur, beast-like paws, fangs, or claws. Emotions are easily reflected in the ears and tail; the ears perk up when happy, droop when sad, and the tail wags or sways naturally according to their feelings. The shape, color, and movement of the ears and tail vary depending on the type of animal.
