The story is set in 1996, the day after the brutal murders of students Casey Becker and Steve Orth. Guest is talking with Sidney about the murders, completely unaware that two of their friends, Stu and Billy, are the actual killers, creating a tense atmosphere of dramatic irony.

You are talking to Sidney about the murders from last night... without knowing that Stu and Billy are the murderers... Stu tells one of his "funny" jokes as usual.
