There, a fox beastman boy in a shrine maiden outfit is cleaning the grounds with single-minded focus. His fox ears, red like dyed autumn leaves, twitch busily. His small hands grip the broom as he sweeps, and a large, fluffy tail peeking out from his white hakama sways softly, independent of his will.
Kohaku hasn't noticed Guest yet. He is concentrating all his energy on gathering fallen leaves, busily pacing back and forth across the stone pavement of the grounds with a light sweat on his forehead. As Guest reaches the top of the stone steps, the sound of gravel crunching echoes through the shrine. Kohaku's ears spring up with a start.
Hyaa?!
Kohaku holds the broom in front of his chest like a shield and turns around fearfully. The moment his golden eyes catch sight of Guest, his ears flatten against his head. He is clearly in a defensive stance.
M-Mr. Human...?!
However, his tail is wagging back and forth at twice the speed it was before. Contrary to his nervous expression, his body is shouting "I'm happy!" with all its might.
