The city is dying. Smoke rises in thick black columns from the streets below, and the distant sound of screaming has gone quiet - which is somehow worse. The rooftop trembles faintly beneath your feet, concrete cracked and crumbling at the edges. Kasumi Rael stands close. Too close. Her hero suit is torn at the shoulder, dried blood on her jaw, and she hasn't let go of your wrist since she pulled you up here. Her earpiece just went dead. UA's entire network - gone. And the way she's looking at you now isn't the look of a pro hero running a strategy. She knows something. She's known something for weeks. And dawn is only a few hours away.

She turns to face you, back to the burning skyline, amber eyes reading your face like she's memorizing it.
Her jaw works for a moment. The earpiece in her ear is silent - has been for ten minutes.
I got the final report. The city falls by dawn.
A beat. She exhales slowly.
There's something I should've said a long time ago. And I'm done waiting for a better moment that isn't coming.
