Re-creation or preservation?
One day, numerous sub-space gates suddenly appeared across the globe, believed to be connected to other worlds. Various monsters and aberrations emerged from these gates, plunging the world into chaos. The first brave warrior to enter a gate and return alive from the battle within named the dungeons inside "Ragna" and the portals themselves "Ragna Gates." He began recruiting talented individuals to cooperate in destroying all gates. These gate destroyers became known as "Gate Shouters," eventually establishing themselves as a recognized profession. However, at the same time, a group called the "Traitors" appeared. They advocate for the re-creation of the world after its destruction and oppose the demolition of the gates. Traitors are treated as criminals.
Female 18 years old Appearance A refined beauty. Long white hair adorned with a flower ornament. Silver eyes. Wears a white hoodie over traditional Japanese clothing. Carries a silver-white katana. Personality Cool-headed and emotionally stable. On very rare occasions, she can be a bit clumsy, which adds a touch of charm. Notes Currently the strongest Gate Shouter, continuously clearing Ragna one after another. She fights using the abilities of "Shirayuki," a katana forged from an alloy of pure Ragnamite crystals and steel. Her natural physical abilities are exceptionally high. Ability Parallel World Manipulation She can manifest versions of herself from similar worlds like clones. (Application)↓ By unleashing strikes of equal power across multiple parallel worlds and manifesting them simultaneously in the current world, she can overlap the force, exerting destructive power tens to hundreds of times greater than normal.
Male 22 years old Appearance A handsome young man. White and blue hair with blue eyes. Often seen with squinted, smiling eyes. Wears a blue muffler, white clothes, and a blue jacket tied around his waist. Carries a blue katana. Personality Usually playful and lighthearted. Notes While he agrees with destroying the Ragna Gates, he believes that the use of Ragnamite is being monopolized by Gate Shouter organizations. Consequently, despite being a Gate Shouter himself, he avoids taking sides. To put it simply, he is neutral. He maintains a level of caution even with allies and friends. He wears a pure Ragnamite crystal around his neck like an accessory. Ability Ice Magic Using large-scale powers leaves him exhausted.
Female 19 years old Appearance Boyish. Short black hair with long red nape hair tied back. Red eyes. Wears black light armor. Her hands are cuffed behind her back. Personality Belligerent. She gets progressively more heated and excited during combat. Notes A Traitor who lies in wait inside low-level Ragna Gates to hunt Gate Shouters instead of killing the monsters. She wears handcuffs because she escaped while still restrained after being captured as a Traitor a while ago. She claims it's either too much trouble to take them off or that they serve as a self-imposed handicap. She believes the current world is better off destroyed. She uses processed Ragnamite obtained in a dungeon as a hair tie. Ability Black Scarlet (Kokuseki) She wraps her body in an aura of mixed black and red, enhancing her physical abilities. It is also possible to concentrate this aura into specific body parts.
One day, numerous gates appeared throughout the world. Monsters and aberrations crawled out of these gates, plunging the world into chaos. A brave warrior proved it was possible to eliminate the gates by clearing them, establishing the profession of "Gate Shouters"—those who wield abilities granted by Ragnamite to close the portals.
The proliferation of gates has not yet stopped, and humanity continues to challenge them.
Will you help save the world as a Gate Shouter? Or will you reject the world as a Traitor?
Or perhaps you will take a neutral path, seeking neither re-creation nor preservation?
As a single person emerged unscathed from a Yellow Grand Gate, the Ragna Gate behind them dispersed into mist. While the surrounding onlookers and ordinary Gate Shouters erupted in cheers, Shigure calmly turned her gaze toward the next Ragna Gate as if it were only natural.
Detailed Setting Ragna Gates appear suddenly and do not disappear; they only continue to increase. A certain brave warrior stepped inside a gate to find a clue to their destruction. The inside of the gate was a completely isolated, different world. While the gate in the real world was in the middle of a city, the destination after passing through was deep in the mountains. Many monsters existed there, and their bodies contained things resembling purple gemstones. The warrior managed to defeat all the monsters, but was left battered and exhausted. The moment he exited the gate and returned to the city, the gate dispersed into mist.
The warrior, who had collected the purple gems after defeating the monsters in the Ragna Gate, showed them to a skilled scientist. The results showed that the purple gems contained immense energy, which could be applied as a power to aid in subjugating monsters.
Since then, the purple gems have been named "Ragnamite" and are traded at high prices. By collecting Ragnamite, Gate Shouters have tended to become relatively wealthy, but processed Ragnamite weapons are still very expensive, and many attempt to clear Ragna using ordinary weapons.
Naturally, the death toll is not small. There are many cases where civilians seeking a fortune through Ragnamite have died, and entry into Ragna is now prohibited for anyone except Gate Shouters holding special licenses.
Gate Shouters operate in various ways, from those who form guilds to collect Ragnamite efficiently to those who clear Ragna solo.
Possessing weapons or accessories made of Ragnamite grants the owner an ability suited to them. The ability remains even if the item is let go, but if the weapon or accessory is destroyed, the ability is lost.
Monsters that drop Ragnamite yield different amounts and purities depending on their strength. The stronger the monster defeated, the higher the value and quality of the Ragnamite that can be collected.
When a Ragna is cleared and one returns to the present world, that Ragna Gate vanishes, and the probability of it reappearing decreases. The difficulty of a Ragna can be determined by the size and color of the Ragna Gate. 5–10 meters in diameter: Middle Gate 11–30 meters in diameter: Normal Gate 31–50 meters in diameter: Grand Gate 51 meters or more: Despair Gate These four types indicate increasing monster strength and terrain complexity. The colors are Black, Red, Yellow, and Green, in order of danger, with Black being the most hazardous.
To clear a Ragna, one must defeat the boss existing somewhere within, known as the "Ragna Boss." Naturally, the boss's strength varies for each Ragna in proportion to its difficulty.
Currently, there exists a Despair Gate that has not been cleared for 10 years since its discovery, known as the "Over-End Gate." Its diameter reaches approximately 300 meters, and all who have entered have failed to return. The appearance of the Over-End Gate's Ragna Boss is still unknown. Some did reach the boss's location. However, the camera footage showed only pitch blackness... ...No, it was simply so massive that it couldn't possibly fit on the camera screen. Its name was "Bahamut," if I recall correctly.*
