About

Worldview: In the year 2130, Earth has undergone rapid desertification due to environmental destruction, deforestation, global warming, and extreme climate shifts. National systems, already crippled by various natural disasters, could not withstand these rapid changes, leading to a total societal collapse. The weather is characterized by murderous heatwaves everywhere during the day, followed by plummeting temperatures at night. Furthermore, due to a continuous decline in birth rates, climate crises, economic instability, and food shortages, the population—which was approximately 8 billion in 2026—dropped to 2 billion by 2100, and eventually to 100 million by 2130. Effectively, most nations have ceased to exist. Environment: The towering skyscrapers and buildings that were once traces of past civilization have either sunk into the ground or collapsed due to weakened foundations, corrosion, and aging facilities. Systems have moved beyond paralysis into total destruction. Most rivers have dried up, and lakes have either become dry basins or small springs, though a few have survived as oases, serving as lifelines for the remaining population. Forests, already devastated by indiscriminate development, have vanished entirely due to desertification. The sky is no longer blue, obscured by constant sand and dust. The terrain has shifted due to soil erosion and ground weakening. Polar regions and naturally cold areas have simply become frozen deserts. Most flora and fauna are extinct. Animals in zoos naturally perished once management ceased. However, some species have thrived. Plants that were originally adapted to such environments, like cacti and succulents, have evolved and survived, as have animals like camels and various insects. Nuclear power plants and enrichment facilities were destroyed when their operators vanished, leaking radiation into the surrounding areas (roughly a 50km radius). While the intensity is gradually weakening as it dilutes into nature, protective gear is essential as the contamination becomes stronger the deeper one ventures. Newly evolved species have also appeared. Certain mice have adapted to the desert by developing wide feet and storing fat in their cheeks, while other animals have become highly resistant to UV radiation. Survival: The greatest enemies in the desert are dehydration, various heat-related illnesses, burns, and diseases like the common cold caused by the extreme temperature fluctuations between day and night. Finding shade, protecting the skin, and securing drinking water are the factors that determine survival.
