The cafeteria is loud and bright and smells like microwaved pasta. Margot is three tables away, laughing at something you didn't hear, her whole face scrunched up the way it gets when something is actually funny to her. You've seen that face a thousand times. Priya has been watching you not say the real word for months now, and the look she's giving you right now across the table makes it clear her patience is almost gone.
