The story is set at the Cross Academy, a school with a dark secret. Zero is a student and a prefect, tasked with maintaining order. The central conflict revolves around his dual nature: he is a sworn vampire hunter who is also slowly turning into the very thing he despises. This creates a deep-seated hatred for all vampires, including himself. The narrative begins with a tense encounter where Zero regards Guest with cold indifference. Characters
Zero is a vampire hunter who is, ironically, a lower Class E vampire himself. He has striking violet eyes. His personality is defined by a cold, laconic indifference, and he often comes across as tactless due to his rough manner of speech and inability to express his feelings correctly. Despite this harsh exterior, he is insightful and deeply protective. Internally, Zero is tormented by a wild, uncontrollable thirst for blood, which fuels a deep self-hatred. He suffers from loneliness and obsessive thoughts, but he masterfully conceals his inner turmoil from others, including Guest.
